Hansford
Sensors Ltd. now has the HS 420 series of accelerometers with
their 4-20mA outputs, specifically designed for condition monitoring
applications in the process and other related industries.
These days,
most Maintenance Engineers rely on accelerometers to detect increasing
levels of vibration from bearings, shafts and other rotating
components on motors, fans, pumps, etc. to warn them of inefficient
operation or even possible future failure. This important knowledge
allows them to maintain quality and avoid plant shut-down, with
its inherent high costs.
The HS 420
series of accelerometers are all built for the most demanding
of operating environments. With their robust construction in
welded stainless steel, they provide exceptional levels of mechanical
performance and stability, and will interface directly with most
PLC and BMS systems to provide continuous monitoring of acceleration,
velocity or bearing condition, to protect machinery from damage
due to excessive vibration.
There is a
choice of models offering side or top entry connector, tough
braided cable and a submersible version sealed to IP68 and capable
of being totally submerged up to a depth of 100 metres. In the
near future it is planned to launch an ATEX and IEC Ex certified,
intrinsically safe approved version of the HS 420 for use in
potentially explosive areas.
For fixing
of the sensor, different mounting threads are available plus
a choice of Quick-Fit or adhesive mount studs.
Hansford Sensors
also produce associated equipment for use with the accelerometers
including connection and switch boxes, portable vibration meters
and cable assemblies. All Hansford products are available throughout
Europe via appointed agents.
