TYPE OF CABLE -
Accelerometers require good quality cable to ensure the best performance is achieved.
Standard cables feature twisted shielded pair construction to minimize electrical interference.
MAXIMUM CABLE LENGTH -
4-20mA Accelerometers (HS-420 Series) in most instances have no limit on cable length provided that the
supply does not drop below 12V and the total loop resistance does not exceed 600 ohms.
AC Accelerometers (HS-100 Series) with cable lengths of around 1000 metres operate effectively with limited
signal loss where low impedance cable (typically below 150pF/m) is used. In most instances any small
signal loss will be insignificant as it is the change in vibration rather than the absolute vibration that is the
important indicator used to assess machine and bearing health
WIRING
Wiring details are supplied with the Calibration Certificate that is supplied with the products and illustrated on
our Technical Data Sheets.
Integral cables and cable assemblies are generally supplied with free ends exposed 60mm to enable easy
connection to the junction/connection/switch box or Monitoring System
